Hello! I haven't posted in almost a month now... It feels weird to be back here again. I probably haven't posted because winter break was in full swing and I didn't have the motivation to post HAHA. Anyways, a lot has happened since I've last posted - some I will blog about in this monstrous post (it doesn't seem like quite the monstrosity now but it will...in another three paragraphs or so) and some I will not. For some odd reason, I feel like doing some kind of rant/opinion with a list and stuff. Sort of like the Top 10 of the year but I'll do that next! First for a lengthy post about my Christmas break and the chaos before it.
Winter break commenced four days before I posted my last post and frankly, it's been quite productive and quite fun. An equal mix of both, maybe. I have exams right when I get back to school (stupid) and I've been pushing myself to be productive, organized and ready. There's nothing worse than feeling unproductive and living a sedentary lifestyle. Can't stand it. Also, I have a beep test and a touch tournament when I get back so there's nothing that seems more important than keeping fit (which I am not) and studying my behind off. But also, I have to enjoy my holiday (as instructed by my madre) and not just study and workout. I was literally instructed to the pool in Bali.
I spent a week in my abode studying and going over Business Studies and Math before jet-setting to Bali, Indonesia. I haven't been to Bali since I was half a decade old and I created so many memories there with my family when I first went. My first trip to Bali was the first time I went underwater and the first time I got those intense braids by the beach. This time, I basically did nothing by the beach. By nothing I mean, suntan, swim, study, shop, eat, sip on my Berry Ice Granita and fool around with the rugby ball I brought with my pals. It was bliss. Really. Five actual days - the sixth being my day of departure - in the sun. I managed to study quite a bit getting Mandarin done and finishing with the French Revolution for World Studies.
I managed to get a tan...ish but kinda got sunburned on my shoulder area. Not too bad. There were such great shops by my hotel and it was so nice to be able to walk around and just not give a crap about anything. The rest of my day was, again, spent throwing the rugby ball around, actually running with the ball on the beach (which is pretty hard I must say) and just dodging waves in the choppy sea. Those waves were huge. And since sand is so "malleable", the water would drag the sand as it went and I would end up landing after jumping with saltwater up my nose. Great.
If I wasn't in the sea or in the pool, I was studying, which was actually quite a lot of time. I was ordered to go into the pool by my mother, my cousin and my friends. I was that motivated to study. I just felt really unprepared at that point but I made up for it when I got back from my trip. I also managed to work out besides running on the beach playing rugby so that was good too! Until I got back. The atmosphere of the beach was so exhilarating though, besides creepy people. And the killjoy lifeguard who actually didn't allow people to go out to swim in the sea or any further than like 30 feet from shore. It wasn't that deep, though because the sand wasn't going very deep...if that makes sense. It just kept going really flat with some dips here and there due to the waves and whatnot. Though there was a lot of gunk going around like plastic bags, which was disappointing, and those things constantly scared me because I thought they were either fish or eels.
I got to go back to restaurants I visited when I went to Bali previously like Hana, a Japanese restaurant, and KuDeTa, a beach club-ish thing. We also went to this beach club called Potato Head (I personally really love the name of this place) and it was beautiful. The music was so good, the food was mouth watering and the ambience was to die for. Dim with good music and the sound of waves crashing on the shore. The architecture of this place is so eccentric, I love it so much. Ahh, just how the entire place was laid out. Amazing.
The trip had to end some time and I wasn't really looking forward to it, obviously. I just need exams to be annihilated forever. Other than that, my winter break has been occupied with studying, beach bliss, working out and rewatching FRIENDS and New Girl! I haven't even started watching Castle Season 4...or 5 was it? I'm not too sure. Ahh so behind.
Anyways, it's been a long post and I need to get on with studying. Top 10 of 2012 coming soon. Happy New Year! And I hope you had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, or Kwanza, whichever you celebrate, Christian, Jew or not.
Also, I've passed 12100 views on my blog yay!
