I used to think they were 'spit ants' because of my mom's poor pronunciation HEEEEEHEHEH.
but I don't even know how they come about. It's like, whaaaaaaat. They're useless. And it's weird. SIGH. I have COUNTLESS split ends. my hair is like ugly. And it's soooooooo rough. eeeeegh. Split ends are weird.
