Singapore - Frankfurt - New York City (28.3.12)

So my journey started on the 27th of March, GMT +8:00 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. My flight to Singapore's Changi International was just 2 hours away from when I stepped onto the airport's drop-off sidewalk. My mom, her friend and I checked in and then went to the lounge to relax for twenty minutes or so before our 3 flights commenced. When the time came, we walked over to the gate and boarded the Singapore Airlines flight to Changi International Airport.

45 minutes of sitting on an airplane, straight-backed, with little foot room and barely any entertainment. Not really torture compared to the next two flights I was about to board. I disembarked the flight and we immediately made way to this Singaporean food restaurant at Changi's Terminal 3, which was new and really modern. After our meal, we walked over to the gate and boarded our flight for Frankfurt, Germany.

I was sat by the window with a family with one toddler behind me. You know where this is going. The mother communicating with nobody but the TV, the father trying to tame the child and the child kicking at my seat and screaming because he thinks that seatbelt is going to rape him. On the entire 13-hour journey to Frankfurt, I had constant bumps and jerks on the back of my seat due to the restless child squirming around behind me. Not to mention, he could not stop saying 'NO! NO SEATBELT!' 'NO! I WANT SCOOBY DOO!' 'DADDY CAN I PLAY GAME NOW?' 'DADDY NO I DON'T WANT IT' 'NO!' 'FJKLSAJFKLSAJFKALSHFKALJAAAHAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!'. And I'm sat there tired as poo due to time zones and whatever about to murder something. There was a vast range of entertainment channels, music and whatnot to indulge myself in but I decided not to bother with it. And the channels and shows on were decent. Modern Family, the Big Bang Theory (!), Up All Night (CD), + by Ed Sheeran (CD), and other stuff that I like. But I dealt with it and went to sleep just so I won't be as tired when I arrive at the Frankfurt Airport and stuff. I also attempted sudoku. LOL.

When we landed at the airport, I dashed out of the plane with my mom and her friend. The airport was acceptable. Not the worst I've been to. But we had to rush through because we only had about 35 minutes to get from one end of the terminal to the other end and I stopped by to get a banana, LOL. And airport security ate about 15 minutes of our time. But when we got to the gate, we had to wait another 20 minutes before we could step onto the aircraft. WTF. Another 8-hour flight awaited me but this time, it was to the most anticipated location: JFK Airport, New York.

Yet again, the family sat behind me because they too were going to New York. This time, the kicking got worse and I got less sleep. JOY. But I took out my laptop and watched some the Big Bang Theory, woo. I basically did nothing for the remaining four hours but listen to music, attempt sudoku again and finished up my NY journal. We finally arrived at JFK and as we were walking to the immigration counters, all I could hear was the clunks and taps of the hard soles of people's shoes. Then there was the awkward click and clang due to the metal end of my Mulberry Alexa bad hitting my bag's handle. That was the only other sound apart from the shoes. AWWWWKKKWARRRDDD.

We had to line up for about and hour because out of 50 available immigration counters, only 4 were being used and there were about 200+ people from two different flights in line. But yeah, we got past immigration and customs, found our car and made our way to the apartment. When we reached the apartment, I finally took a long-awaited shower and started utilizing the Internet and cable TV. At about 4pm, we made way to Little Korea, which is literally a block down from we we're living. We had dinner there aaaand now I'm here.

And I found out that it's high-allergy season because of pollen and whatnot and I'm allergic to pollen so yay me. I'm sitting here trying to beat jet-lag and looking forward to tomorrow because I'm finally gonna be in the middle of Manhattan shopping on Fifth Avenue and all that.
